The project's hypothesis of change is that providing UCTs to individuals who have prior microfinance experience and who have received training in money management, market understanding and entrepreneurship are more likely to put the funds to productive use, such as investing to scale their businesses and increase their income. Additionally, the UCT amount will be of a considerable size, so that it not only alleviates short-term consumption needs, but will be spent on long-term investments. To ensure secure fund distribution, our partner organization HFM Burundi will utilize their existing infrastructure, employing rigorous digital and in-person validation methods to ensure that the money reaches its intended target population. The team at HMF Norway will employ its digital monitoring infrastructure to ensure good governance and transparency. Moreover, the Development Learning Lab (DLL) at Chr.
