Trade for resilient, inclusive and sustainable economic growth
This project supports inclusive and sustainable economic growth by strengthening the capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly those led by women and under-represented groups, to access Canadian and international markets. It aims to strengthen trade support institutions (TSIs) in 16 countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America to deliver inclusive, gender-responsive, and sustainable services to SMEs. The project also seeks to improve the ability of TSIs to integrate gender equality and social inclusion into their operations and to enhance the export readiness of SMEs. Project activities include: (1) training TSIs to deliver export-readiness and climate-resilient services to SMEs; (2) developing gender action plans and tools to support inclusive service delivery; and (3) coaching SMEs to improve their export offerings and connect with international buyers. This project supports initiatives that benefit 3,200 SMEs, (2,133 led or owned by women and under-represented groups) and 16 TSIs.

Biodiversity for Resilient Agricultural Ecosystems Landscapes (BREAL)
The Biodiversity for Resilient Ecosystems in Agricultural Landscapes (B-REAL) project aims to conserve and restore biodiversity in intensively farmed, climate-stressed regions of Colombia, Kenya and Peru. The project integrates biodiversity practices into agriculture, involving women as producers and traditional knowledge holders in the co-design of intervention. It also promotes nutritious and underutilized local crops to improve farmers’ incomes. This funding is part of Canada’s commitment made at the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15) in December 2022 in Montreal. It aligned with the Vision for Adapted Crops and Soils, one of the Group of Seven (G7) Apulia Food Security Initiatives. Project activities include: (1) co-creating biodiversity interventions; (2) implementing technologies through demonstration plots, tree nurseries, community seed banks, and training programs; and (3) conducting gender-responsive market assessments and using market incentives for conservation.

This project aims to strengthen women's leadership among state and justice institutions across coastal Kenya in preventing or countering violent extremism (P/CVE). It seeks to achieve this through activities that foster institutional and cultural shifts that promote women's inclusion and create an enabling environment for women's leadership in P/CVE. Supporting Eastern Africa in countering terrorist use of improvised explosive devices
This project seeks to support national capacities within Kenya, Somalia and Uganda to develop, test and institutionalize systematic methods to gather improvised explosive devices (IED) evidence, and handle and respond in a whole-of-government approach across security and law enforcement entities. This aims to be achieved through the provision of training and activities on both upstream (pre-incident) and downstream (post-incident) counter-IED measures. Upstream training seeks to support officials in IED identification, control of IED precursors and components, and intelligence-led operations to interdict individuals or groups before the IED is manufactured or deployed. Downstream C-IED training seeks to enhance law enforcement capacity in scene exploitation and recovered evidence analysis, technical exploitation of recovered devices, component tracing, and the collection and handing of evidence from IED incidents. Project activities include: (1) conducting national needs assessment missions for each country (1 per country) to assess the relevant legislation and response capacities to the threat posed by terrorist acquisition and use of IEDs; (2) developing and testing a training c
