Zambian Adolescent Girls Advocacy - ZAMGA
The purpose of the preparatory study is to develop and prepare a pilot project together with our new partner organization, Tambwe Legcay Foundation. The objectives will be to lay out a detailed timeline for the pilot project, as well as share knowledge on effectient methods to develop and finalize the pilot project together. The project is entitled Zambian Adolescent Girls Advocacy, hereafter called ZAMGA. Together with Tambwe Legacy Foundation, we intend to focus on an advocacy project whose objective is to empower, promote and campaign for the basic human rights of adolescent girls in Zambia. The Zimbabwe project?s next phase
The purpose of this preparatory study is to meet with representatives of Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU) and shape the forthcoming phase of the ZINASU-DSF partnership. This is important since the conflictual environment in Zimbabwe challenge the partnership?s prolongation, its scope and future activities. Representatives of ZINASU is attending the eighth Africa Students and Youth Summit in Morocco, which represents a unique opportunity for our two organizations to debate outside Zimbabwe. By assembling in Morocco, we have the opportunity to discuss opportunities and challenges for a realistic and safe continuation of the partnership, without endangering any attending representatives of either DSF or ZINASU.

VU Zambia
The VU project team was overwhelmed by the experiences during our partner identification trip to Zambia in February 2019. The enthusiasm expressed by the young members of YWCA was inspiring, and we felt highly motivated to establish a sustainable partnership with this group, whose democratic values align with ours. The YWCA Youth Department expressed interest to creating stronger ties with youth from Venstres Ungdom. More specifically, the young people wanted to ensure a platform of communications and a strong sense of coherence across all districts. Based on this discussion, Venstres Ungdom wishes to conduct a second preparatory study in Zambia. The purpose of the trip is to strengthen partnership and jointly work on the application and preparations for a pilot project. The proposed project is to facilitate a YWCA youth convention where the experience of VU, hopefully, could contribute to a successful outcome.

Mental Health Awareness Initiative
The purpose of the pilot project is to address mental health challenges amongst youths in Zambia through various information awareness activities. Mental health is highly stigmatized and is considered a taboo subject in the majority of the African communities, and specifically in Zambia. Through this project we aim to create and normalise the conversation on mental health as a means of reducing the stigma and prejudice around the topic. Secondly this project aims to address the structural barriers such as lack of mental health facilities, lack of qualified personnel, and lack of access to proper treatment and follow-up. Creating the conversation and normalising the discussion around mental health alone, won’t be enough if people don’t have access to facilities where they can get the help they need. The project will therefore work hand in hand with the ministry of health, which is the primary duty-bearer, to outline practical ways to simplify access to treatment and help, for those who need it.

Zambian Adolescent Girls Advocacy - ZAMGA
Gender discrimination and violence towards adolescent girls remains both a social and cultural challenge in Zambia. We believe that the legal system, if used well, could help protect vulnerable girls and women from such challenges. However, like in most developing African countries, poverty and lack of financial resources pose a huge challenge in accessing legal help. Children?s rights in general, and girl?s rights in specific, still face great threats. Of primary concern are early marriage, corporal punishment, child labor, forced marriage, adolescent pregnancies - just to mention a few. Sexually and physically abused adolescent girls lack the proper psychological or health follow-up. Lack of basic education or community outreach programs aimed at vulnerable adolescent girls, leaves these girls with no place to seek help. Availability and accessibility to such youth projects and community outreach programs, will give these girls the second chance they need.

Mentoring as a way forward
Through a collaboration that exploits the best of both organizations, YWCA of Zambia & VU wants toestablish a mentorship programme. The aim of the pilot project is therefore to teach young people, whose lives have hitherto been difficult, that they, too, are worthy and capable of becoming part of society. The mentorship program will initially take place in a youth center chosen in collaboration between the two organizations. Whereas the core activity will therefore be to facilitate mentoring sessions, other activities include developing the mentor guidelines as well as recruiting and educating mentors. Moreover, the pilot project is tightly connected to DUFs development triangle as its core focus is mentoring sessions for children and young people. Moreover, it will build organizational capacity for YWCA, strengthening ties to youth centers in need. Finally, the program will strengthen the young peoples capacity to express their needs, ambitions, and hopes for the future. The pilot project will take place between January & July 2022 and will be strengthened by the capacity and presence of local as well as Danish Youth leaders.

First of all, the convention will prove to the young people that they - in spite of age and gender - have a say and an ability to make an impact, it will be an opportunity to build capacity and learn organization skills, and it be a way for the Danish group to gain further understanding of the organisation with which we hope to initiate a long and lasting partnership.

High Quality Airborne Data for Future Developments in Zambia
Zambia is the second biggest of producer of copper on the African continent. Zambia's share of the global copper productions ranges between 3-4% annually. Copper exports form a significant part of the overall exports of the country with over 70% of the forex accrued coming from copper. The sector is a significant contributor to the overall GDP as well as an important employer in-country throughout the mining value chain.
The Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) through the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development (MMMD) has decided to conduct a countrywide acquisition of new, high resolution airborne geophysical data to contribute to an updated geological map and minerals occurrence map of Zambia and thereby attract investment in the mining sector. There has been no country-wide geological mapping of Zambia. The mapping done in the 1970s did not cover the whole country, and with modern technology it is expected to obtain a more accurate overview of the mineral reserves of the country.
The purpose of the mapping exercise is to inform the government better of what is available and assist it with allocations and pricings thereof. The mapping relates directly to the goal of a

Zambia Inclusive Higher Education Project (ZIHEP)
In Zambia inclusive practices have already been developed for primary and secondary education but the higher education has not yet become inclusive.
It is challenging for disabled to be enrolled at a higher education institution and those who are admitted into a university do not have sufficient support measures.
The project aims to improve accessibility by supporting higher education institutions in Livingstone, Lusaka and Kabwe to become more inclusive. The project raises awareness of the importance of higher education for people with disabilities. The aim is to commit university management to taking responsibility for providing quality and accessible education for students with disabilities (SWDs) - both women and men.
The project supports the academic and social inclusion of SWDs in partner universities by establishing or reinforcing disability-specific services in university student services & empowering students with disabilities through the activities of their associations. The project strengthens the capacity of students with disabilities to demand the necessary support measures in order to complete their studies.
The beneficiaries are students with disabilities in part

Community-based strategies for sustainable natural resource management and gender equality in Monze and Mazabuka
Objective of the project is to resolve challenges identified by Zambian rural communities as hindering their development. Climate change causes prolonged periods of drought, having an impact on the livelihoods and food security of the communities. In addition, use of charcoal as the most significant energy source has led to accelerated deforestation which contributes to climate change and environmental degradation. Need to burn wood further creates a challenge for developing sustainable livelihoods and forestation. The scarcity of water available has an impact on the livelihoods such as agriculture, forestry and livestock. Lack of water has reduced the communities' interest to invest in these livelihoods.
The beneficiaries of the project are 500 households in Monze and Mazabuka, southern Zambia. The long-term development objective is to improve environmental and living conditions as well as livelihoods in a sustainable, equal and climate-friendly manner. Project aims to achieve this by promoting the use of renewable energy, sustainable livelihoods, forestation and by improving water security.
