Evidence standards

Judgements you can check

Mazin Intel is a founder-led practice focused on African security and maritime risk. We compete on depth and transparency: every judgement shows where it came from, how confident we are and when it was last updated.

Every record names its source

Each published incident and assessment links to the public source it rests on. Records without a source are not published.

Source registry →

Confidence is stated, not implied

Every judgement carries a High, Medium or Low confidence level, with the reasoning recorded by the analyst.

Methodology →

Dates are shown on every panel

Data panels show when they were last updated. A record's age is never presented as a fresh review.

Maritime Watch →

Coverage limits are declared

Coverage is not equal across Africa. Each of the 54 countries shows its tier and whether it has been assessed.

Coverage by country →

The sample is free to read

The Berbera sample assessment can be downloaded without sign-up, so buyers can judge the work before paying.

Sample report →

Data access is open to developers

A documented API with a free tier returns the same published, sourced records shown on the site.

What we will never claim

  • ×Field networks, in-country sources or human intelligence we do not have.
  • ×Clients, testimonials, partnerships or affiliations that do not exist.
  • ×Live or complete coverage where the data is delayed or partial.
  • ×Risk ratings for countries or ports that have not been assessed.

Assessments are written and reviewed by the founder. If you find an error, tell us and we will correct the record.

Original analysis is distinguished from source reporting. Publication alone does not establish analyst review. Machine-assisted drafts remain unreviewed until an actual review is recorded.
